Fleet Management Solutions and Teletrac Participate in FedFleet 2011 Conference

Combined Companies Showcase Fleet Director Family of GPS and Vehicle Tracking Products

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., July 12, 2011 — Fleet Management Solutions (FMS), a leading provider of advanced fleet management solutions, today announced it will participate with sister company Teletrac in the 11th National Motor Vehicle and Aviation Training and Exposition also known as FedFleet 2011, July 26-28, at the Rosen Shingle Creek convention resort in Orlando, Florida.

FMS and Teletrac will showcase their comprehensive portfolio of advanced technology solutions for GPS vehicle fleet tracking, with 24/7 availability in any location –  from local metropolitan areas to the most remote and rugged regions of the globe – that drive greater operational efficiencies, enhanced productivity, better asset utilization, improved driver behavior, safety and security.

Sponsored by the Federal Fleet Policy Council, GSA's Office of Government-wide Policy, the Interagency Committee for Aviation Policy, and the Federal Boat Executive Committee, Fed Fleet includes extensive Aviation Workshop sessions, an Interagency Committee on Aviation Policy meeting, and an all-day Basic Fleet Management class, in addition to GSA Automotive Federal Vehicle Standards breakout sessions and vendor presentations.

Conference attendees will also have an opportunity to learn how FMS and Teletrac can help agencies maximize and even reduce expenditures. Hands‐on demonstrations of Fleet Director and Fleet Director Global will reveal how both solutions:

  • Locate and track the position and operation of vehicles and assets in real time, 24x7, from any browser-based computer or mobile device
  • Reduce road breakdowns and improve maintenance via on-board vehicle diagnostics and engine monitoring
  • Instantly notify drivers regarding key information including pickups, deliveries, work orders, jobsite arrivals, departures, and more.
  • Ensure the security of assets and personnel even in the most remote regions.

FMS solutions have been successfully deployed by both the US Government Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and US State Department. Currently, FMS is in the process of equipping the DHS’s Enforcement and Removal Operation’s fleet of 4500 vehicles with its mobile resource management system. FMS was one of the first companies to add an Iridium satellite-based fleet management and tracking system to the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule, providing government buyers and co-op buyers a more simplified approach to the procurement process. FMS' products are listed on Federal Supply Schedule 084, GS-07F-0530W, SIN 426 4Q.

Teletrac products and services continue to foster efficient use of vehicles to avoid congestion, eliminate wasted journeys and reduce negative environmental impact. Fleet Director has been most recently recognized for its technological advances earning the Mobile Electronics News Magazine’s Gold Award for Best Fleet Tracking solution, Management Today’s Green Business Award, Green Fleet Magazine’s IT and Communications Product of The Year Award, and Fleet News Magazine’s Fleet Van Technology Initiative of the Year.

FMS, based in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Teletrac combined businesses in 2010 when FMS was acquired by Teletrac parent company Trafficmaster. The collective strength of the companies delivers GPS fleet tracking systems to more than 10,000 fleets worldwide. Teletrac, Inc., headquartered in Garden Grove, Calif., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of UK-based Trafficmaster.
